Letter from John and Pam Scott
Hi Claudia,
I have been showing John your emails and pictures, he has really enjoyed
the trip back in time. I decided that maybe I should send you an update on
what we've been doing the last 32 years too. I will attach several layouts
too, hope they're big enough to see, I saved them kind of small. I'm
addicted to scrapbooking! (any good scrapbook stores in Amarillo?)
I'm Pam (Morey) from Childress,TX class of 68, John and I married in
1969, and bought a farm near Onida,SD , and we have 5 children, ages 30 to
21. We grow wheat, sunflowers, corn and cattle. Our oldest son Eric helps
us on the farm. Onida is located about 30 miles north of Pierre. John has
taught adult woodworking for many years, he and I are pretty good, he builds
it, and I do all the sanding, staining and varnishing...I make him look
good! He coached AAU wrestling for several years, and our son Eric is now
head wrestling coach at the high school. Hope all you PDHS wrestlers and
fans remember that John was pretty good way back when he weighed 145 lb. We
never get to come to the class reunions as our wheat harvest is always
during that time. We do, however get back to Amarillo quite often, John's
sister and brothers still live there. Our oldest daughter Amy lives there
too! She is a nurse at BSA, I hope you never have to meet her, but she's
on the neurology floor and doing a great job, she just completed her RN
degree at Amarillo College last May. Our daughter Wendy is married, is a 911
dispatcher in Pierre, SD and is the mother of our 3 1/2 year old
granddaughter...we highly recommend being grandparents, it's the BEST! Our
daughter Sarah is just finishing her first year of vet school at Iowa State.
And our youngest son Johnny will be 21 in a few days, he's working for the
state of SD.
We will let you know the next time we head that way, I hope it's soon.
When we come to TX we love to have real Texas BBQ and Mexican food, just
can't get it that good up here! Oh, and we still have our TX accents, but
it gets stronger when we come "HOME".
Have a great day,
John and Pam Scott
Go Big Blue!
