On November 14, Dr. Gaile Haessly was returning from Christmas shopping when she was gravely injured in her Volvo at an intersection in Denton, Texas. The trauma left her unconscious for almost four weeks before she succumbed to her air bag injuries on December 9, 2005. Her loving sister Kay and her Mom Hilda (our "sweetheart of America") still live in Amarillo. Gaile Ann was my childhood sweetheart, and we had been back together for several wonderful years.

I will be ever thankful for Gaile, delighted in her company and our active and smiling times. There are no words to describe what this petite lady meant to me. Gaile Ann accomplished much and enjoyed so many things, but we are most thankful for the graceful way she filled our lives with beauty through all those days and years.
